I vino deriva dai vitigni rossi tipici del Beneventano (principalmente Aglianico e Piedirosso) coltivati nelle are vitate del territorio provinciale dalla zona ad indicazione geografica tipica, su terreni di natura argillosa e moderatamente calcarei. Si presenta con un bel colore rosso rubino: al naso mostra sentori di frutta rossa sotto spirito, mora, e floreale di viola. L'aroma si completa con note di frutta secca (carruba), speziate (chiodi di garofano e liquirizia), di cioccolata, tabacco ecaramello. In bocca si averte un corpo pieno e gradevolmente morbido, elegante, leggermente astringente.
